Investment Analyst Internship

AAngeles Investments is an employee-owned, institutional investment advisor and Outsourced Chief Investment Officer ("OCIO") that serves as the de facto Chief Investment Officer for our clients, which are predominately non-profit endowment and foundation institutions.

Angeles seeks a motivated Investment Analyst intern to join our Investment Officer team for the summer and support our institutional clients. Investment Officers are responsible for designing and implementing portfolio strategy and managing client relationships. In this role, you'll work closely with Investment Officers to support our client service efforts and contribute to the organization’s investment research.

What You Can Expect

  • Cross-functional collaboration across Angeles on projects that significantly enhance your understanding of the investment management industry
  • To be integrated and contribute to internal meetings in which we discuss our investment outlook, client communications, and business strategy
  • To actively participate in investment manager research meetings and share findings with the firm through written reports
  • To be assigned mentors that will guide you through the internship experience, provide tools and training to complete projects effectively, and listen to your feedback to create an optimal learning experience
  • To participate in firm-wide team building, volunteer, and social events

  • High intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in investing and financial markets
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment
  • Leadership experience with a strong work ethic and detail orientation
  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills

Intern Projects Include (But Are Not Limited To)

  • Client Engagement: Review, evaluate and consider how to best provide reporting and other materials to meet our clients’ communication preferences. Assist in preparation for client meetings and new business opportunities.
  • Investment Engagement: Assist in identifying, interviewing and evaluating existing and new investment managers for client portfolios. Provide written meeting documentation on research meetings summarizing the investment thesis/next steps.
  • Special Projects: Work to improve our qualitative assessments of managers' diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and responsible investing integration into our investment processes.
